1. Breaking me down

Sunday September 11th, 2011 by admin

Hmm, let’s try this breaking down to its components on me:

The thing that surprised me is that there is little tangible to be found. Also, people seems to be the most important thing in work. I think I have read this somewhere :) .

  3. Wish you were here

Tuesday August 23rd, 2011 by admin

    Can’t find relief today,
of the feelings that make me sway,
and though I know its gonna be okay,
    I just wanted to say…

    Wish you were here.

    Excuse me if I may,
“just be” is what real friends say,
tomorrow will be a better day,
    Sorry but I can’t stay…

  4. The secret powers…

Sunday August 14th, 2011 by admin

Actually, the “Black Swan” book reminds me of the secret power of time (see video below). It is indeed about taking calculated risks, and whilst enjoying today’s life not doing so blindfolded on 9 de julio in Buenos Aires ;) ….

  5. Le cygne noir

    by admin

Love it. The reasoning. The contradiction. The non-structure of the hypothesis. Reading “The Black Swan” puts my mind at work. Great piece of work of Nassim Nicholas Taleb. Writing about the black swan effect to become one, smart thinking hey!? Just wanted to write down a thought.

If you are a person in the right place at the right time, would you know it? Or even more important, would you do something about it or let it pass?

  6. Moves like Jagger

Thursday August 4th, 2011 by admin

I think I am finally good in something: listening non stop to Maroon 5 with “Moves like Jagger”. Love it. I have been up since 2:30 am and havent stopped listening to the song for longer than 15 minutes… I am starting to believe I AM JAGGER :)

  7. Another Day

Sunday July 31st, 2011 by admin

Unpredictable in the way you move,
yet straight to the point, as soon will prove.
Sweetness is your one and only prey,
if only it was, for another day.

Torture is all I get from chasing you,
but I won’t stop, not before you do.
The chase itself is what keeps you at bay,
if only it would, for another day.

    Fascinated by your final arrival,
bringing grace and beauty, but no survival.
The time is now you seem to say,
If only it were, for another day.

Invisible as you move out of sight,
with a sudden pain, it somehow isn’t right.
Wish that I could make you stay,
if only I could, for another day.

    Xo

  8. In God we trust

Friday July 29th, 2011 by admin

I had this interesting adventure at startup XYZ in Amsterdam. I offered my services, it took them 3 weeks to decide yes or no, and 3 days after the yes they break up the contract immediately.

So this is for all you trustworthy people out there, including myself:

    - do not trust your contractor to trust you, he doesn’t
    - do not trust your employees to trust you, they don’t
    - do not trust your colleagues to trust you, they don’t

Or in other words, don’t expect people to trust you as you trust them, in business anyway. Why? Because its business.

  9. Television is not the truth!

Sunday June 26th, 2011 by admin

We live in interesting times. You only have to turn on the television and you hear about revolution upon revolution, crisis upon crisis, war upon war. That is if you are not watching some sitcom, sports event or soap series. We then take this information from CNN, BBC or FOX and speak of it as the truth. But all we see is a selection of images and a pretty girl reading newslines. Ever thought about who wrote those? Ever thought about who owns the networks? Ever thought about whether telling the truth serves their interests?

So what happens if you turn off that “truth” telling machine? You would have to make up your own mind about things, formulate a genuine opinion on things by investigation. And this is the real power shift: with the internet, anyone now has access to and can contribute to different viewing points of the same events. So turn the hollow machine off, cancel your newspapers and investigate yourself! That’s the only way to get to the truth about anything.

  10. Fail fast…

Monday June 20th, 2011 by admin

Isn’t it funny how all the people that we listen to have made it somehow somewhere? I mean, if you go to a talk or conference, most of the time there is people that we admire because they achieved something. This is great of course, but the fact they succeeded does a) not mean they know why they did and b) makes it unlikely that it will happen that way again. Think about it, the factors of success are determined by randomness for a large part anyway. Failure however seems to be an ever returning phenomena that we can actually assess. Ask someone who failed with his startup or company and he will be able to tell you exactly what went wrong. Ask a so called “success” person why he succeeded and he will tell you a bull shit story about how it “just happened” to him and they “just worked really hard”.

Fail fast and often, and chances are you will succeed one day for the right reasons.
